MAFU stands for Mental Toughness, Attitude, Fanatical Effort, and Unity. It's a club that football players on defense can join based on performance on the field. I've only seen it attributed to colleges in Utah where it seems the former coach of the University of Utah (Ron "Mac" McBride) coined it, and it has spread to other schools with former Utah coaches and players moving on to coach in other places (Weber State University for example).
