13 feet 9 inches from behind the line to the center of the goal ( measured horizontally ).
That's just how the game was invented.
from the base line (the wall behind the hoop)
The free throw line is always 15 ft from the line to the backboard
a college basketball foul shot/line is always 15ft fron the center of the hoop
there is no outof bounds line in baseball
If you mean litterly then you cant make threes. If you mean a 3 pointer then you stand on the 3 point line and shoot the ball in the basketball hoop!!
the half court line is 55 feet away
It is measured from the center of the hoop.
The 3 point line is 23 feet 9 inches at the top of the key and 22 feet from the corners
the game of basketball is played on a court divided into two halfs with a basketball hoop on each end. On ech end of the court there is a three point line to shoot behind, a freethrow line to shoot free throws on and a lane where you can only stand in for three seconds.
From the guidebook published by the NCAA, the front of the free throw line is 18 feet, 10 inches from the end line. The back of the line is 19 feet, and the center of the 18 inch hoop is 63 inches from the end line. So the back of the free throw line is 13 feet 9 inches from the center of the hoop.
