Wayne Gretzky was famously injured by defenseman Marty McSorley during a game on April 4, 1993, while playing for the Los Angeles Kings. McSorley delivered a high stick to Gretzky's face, resulting in a deep cut that required stitches and sidelined him for several games. This incident is often remembered as a pivotal moment in Gretzky's career, highlighting the physical nature of hockey and the risks players face on the ice.
Gretzky played one game for the Phoenix Roadrunners (the LA Kings minor league team at the time) in the preseason of 1993 (Sept. 25th). He and three other Kings players were "demoted" for one game when they played the Kings as part of a special one time event.

The best players in the world are usually part of and/or play in the National Hockey League (NHL). The most famous players at the moment are Sidney Crosby (#87, captain of the Pittsburgh Penguins) and Alexander Ovechkin (#8, captain of the Washington Capitals). Old hockey legends include Wayne Gretzky (#99, Edmonton Oilers, New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, a.k.a. "The Great One") and Bobby Orr. :)
Wayne Gretzky was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988
no he wasn't
no
gretzky played for the kings from 88 to 96. Dave
THis is my opinion Wayne Gretsky has won lots of lady byng trophies, Stanley cups and a whole bunch of other trophies and the Los Angeles Kings have been on good winning streaks even before Gretsky was signed to the Kings so I think it would be at least 200-300 dollars. In my opinion a Wayne Gretsky hockey stick should easily bring in $500 or more! Dealers are selling them from $650 to $800. I've got a 1988 team signed LA Kings stick with Wayne Gretsky, Luc Robillard and 20 more signatures that I'm listing on eBay shortly, and hope to get over $1000.00. I'll let you know how it goes. the two people who answered spelled Gretzky wrong
