The player who is serving must stand behind the baseline, between the center mark and the sideline. A foot fault takes place when your foot touches the ground on - or forward of - the service line before you strike the ball.

During your service motion, if your feet touch the baseline of the court or touch the middle line (the bump in the middle of the baseline), it is called a foot fault and the serve is a fault. The serve is supposed to be delivered from behind the baseline and from one side of the court. Your feet are only allowed to touch the baseline after the ball has completed contact with the racket head.

It's when you have the ball and you move the foot you landed on. So if you caught the ball, put down your left foot as you landed and then put down your right foot, moving you left foot afterwards would be a fault.

In Netball, players are called up for:

Stepping - taking a step with grounded foot

Drag - dragging grounded foot

Contact - touching a player on the opposing team with or without the ball

Obstruction - defending less than 3feet away from opponent

Hop - hopping with grounded foot

Intimidation - standing in front of player without defending (you don't have to be 3 feet away, you just can't put your hands up)

Offside - going out of your restricted area

Over-the-top - catching the ball over your oppenent's head

Replay - bouncing or re-catching the ball

Breaking - starting to run before the whistle has been blown

Using the post - using the post to gain balance while defending

A foot-fault is when the player serving steps over the back boundary line while in the process of serving. You must stay within all out of bound's lines when serving.
