the job of centre midfielder in football (soccer) direct the other players in the job of keeping the ball in the attacking 3rd. of the field. When need come back to defence to move the ball out of the defensive 3rd. This not all the centre midfieder does but it is a start.

it depends on the center you are talking about. If you talking about the center defense they play in front of the sweeper and are kind of a defensive mid. The center- mid wins balls in the midfield area and plays them up. The central striker distributes and scores

A centre forward receives the ball from one of the wings near the attacking D. They dribble it in and shoot. They normally don't want to go back to far towards the defence so that when the ball is hit out of the defending D they can receive it, run it up and shoot.
