Its actually a very pale black, he enjoys this because when he looks at this pale black it reminds him of the coal Santa would always get him for Christmas, but unfortunately he just found out his father was pretending to be said Santa and that Santa never actually came to visit him. Because of this his seemingly favourite colour (being a very pale black) has now turned into a very dark white all due to the fact that Michael wants to start a new life with this new favourite colour being the all too well known, very dark white.
