If the two teams are playing each other again in the same city later that season, they will usually schedule a doubleheader. If they dont play again, they might try to squeeze the game in on a mutual off day. If no such mutual off day exists, they probably won't play the game, especially if it is late in the season and the outcome of the game won't affect a team making or not making the playoffs. However, if it WOULD make such a difference, they would play that game after the season. Long Answer!
