Why? Because compare it to other sports like baseball. A LOT more people watch big events like the Super Bowl instead of the World Series. Hockey is close, but in this wikiholic's opinion, football is America's Sport.

With it growing rapidly in popularity not just here in America, but other places around the world, it would not be right to make it more lower ranked then this.

3. Baseball

Well for most people, baseball is the first sport introduced in persons life. If the kid gets involved a lot in baseball early he will stay liking that sport, but as people grow older they tend to change favorite sports more then you think. (For example, I chose baseball as my first favorite sport, then changed to hockey, then to what I am now, a basketball lover).

4. Hockey

Hockey is rouge sport, witch is why many people like it. They also think that it is cool how good they are at something this crazy and hard.

5. Soccer is in this rank because it is usually more challenging to follow your team because of the way the league is set up. But the reason people would like it is because it is almost impossible to score and that everyone basically has a low chance of scoring.

Lacrosse has gained a lot popularity over recent times.

7. Rugby

Also getting more popular, rugby is a lot lot like a mix of soccer and football.

8. Cricket

Probably the worlds most confusing sport, cricket is like baseball only one player usually get over 5,000 runs or something.
