Nolan finished his NHL career with the Toronto Maple Leafs (2003-04), Phoenix Coyotes (2006-07), Calgary Flames (2007-08), and Minnesota Wild (2008-10). He played in 29 games for ZSC Lions of Switzerland's National League A in 2010-11. Nolan announced his retirement on February 7, 2012. He is currently a co-owner of 2 restaurants in San Jose.

The Sharks traded Jeff Friesen to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in 2000-01, where he played until the end of the 2001-02 season. He played for the New Jersey Devils (2002-04), Washington Capitals (2005-06), Mighty Ducks (2006), Calgary Flames (2006-07), Lake Erie Monsters of AHL (5 games in 2008), and Eisbaren Berlin of Germany's Deutsche Eishockey Liga (2009-11).
