The grooves on the soles of shoes and boots are known as the treads. Running shoes may have spikes for grip on grass running tracks. Football boots have studs, also for grip on an often slippery, grass football pitch.
Riding boots don't have grip because if you fall off and your boots have grip your foot will get stuck in the stirrup , because the grip will cling to the stirrup and you will get dragged.
While it is possible to play football with boots, boots are very important for gripping the ball and striking it with ease. FIFA has made it compulsory for footballers to wear football boots at all times during a game.
They were studded shoes to support them when running on the grass. This gives them a better grip. SO they were studs (football boots)
Astro boots, are used for playing on astro turfs and hard grass because they give you better grip than, in muddy grass. Normal football boots are generally metal studs which is used for muddy wet grass because they did into the ground and supply you with much better grip than astros would. But you can get football boots with molded plastic studs which can be used for astro turf as well as grass but I don't like using my moulds of astro because it makes you higher off the ground and means it is harder to kick the ball because of the studs :)
Best quality football boots I've owned in 35+ years playing.
Power Boots such as Nike T90
I believe nike boots are the best football boot ever.
Nike
I think the best football boots are puma kings. I think this because think of all the amazing footballers who wore them such as george best and maradonna. They are very durable and remember its not the boot its the player. I think nike football boots are much better, especially Nike Tiempo Legend.
Adidas f50 adizero
The owner of the best football boots in the world would have to be the world current greatest player and that honour goes to Lionel Mmess although Cristiano Ronaldo's boots are very very good.
