Players wear the team guernsey, shorts, and socks. They also wear specially designed boots for Australian Rules football. There is no protective clothing. Many players wear strapping under their uniform particularly on shoulders and ankles to help support the muscles and joints. Many players also wear tight lycra style shorts to help support thighs and hamstrings.

Aside from that you need the ball and goal posts. Umpires carry whistles for signalling free kicks as well as pencil and notepad for reporting players that breach certain rules.
