So in 2011 the Texas Rangers have apparently come up with a new hand gesture (shown above). I've been scouring the interwebs to figure out what it may be called or mean; however, I'm not having much luck. I've heard rumors that Ranger players are not yet ready to unveil it's name; however, you can't believe everything you read on the web. Perhaps it is something dreamed up by the Rangers marketing team to start selling more merchandise seeing how wildly popular the "claw" and "antlers" have become?
I have seen several posts calling this "the cobra"; however, I have also seen posts refuting this claim stating that Michael Young actually spoke out and denied that it is the "cobra".
***UPDATE*** So, according to an article in the Dallas Morning News, the sign is indeed called the "Sitting Duck". Apparently it was a bit of an inside joke that started in the clubhouse and involved ex-Rangers infielder Hank Blalock. For some reason, Rangers players still won't explain exactly what it means, yet fans are still embracing it.
MLB.com is now selling a shirt entitled "Ducks on the Pond" with the hand gesture; however, it doesn't make sense to me that the hand sign simply means bases loaded considering the Rangers do it every time they get a hit....
In addition, the Rangers couple the sitting duck with a second gesture where they essentially interlock their fingers...no idea what is going on there.
i dont know but the texas rangers do it too.
Long distant high five
Runners in scoring position
Non interlocking means that the parts of objects do not connect together. To interlock means to unite through means of dovetailing of hooking.
What not aough rangers mean you have go to the store then the staff and you"ll see rangers
Although it may have other meanings, that is the badge of the Texas Rangers. The law enforcement agency, not the baseball team.

Stefan klos, leonel charbonia, Claudio canigga, gevarch, emerson, I think that's all them, gattuso one one after he left. I'm like ch off eggheads, but I'm not a smug, paki, shirt lifter
Please specify which Rangers you mean.
The medical term is hexadactyly, which means six fingers or toes. Having six fingers does not 'mean' anything.
A rangers fan!
The "Claw" is done when a Ranger gets on base with a hard hit. The "Antlers" means a Ranger showed a lot of hustle and speed, like a deer.
