They are part of the offense and the defense. They are generally the most fit players on the team because they have to run up and down the field with the ball. When their team has the ball, they go wide. When they don't have the ball, they move in. When they go wide, they provide a passing option for the defense and a potential set-up for a goal to the forwards. They also provide a passing option for the center midfielders and can dribble the ball down the field. And it's my position!
