A short stop is the position between 3rd & 2nd .The short stop is just like the second baseman ,but cover the base only when the ball is on the 1st base side .It also backs up 3rd base and act as a cut off for the out field.

a SS is pretty Important J. Roll plays SS a SS is Right between 3rd and 2nd so if it gets between those 2 bases he can get it
