their job is to defend the wing attack and stop them from getting the ball.
sometimes the wing attack will have to help with center passes and penalties

A goal shooters job is to break free when WA or C have it along with the GA. They are only allowed to shoot goals besides the GA.

netball:
GK- goal keeper
A goal Keeper (GK) plays in the defensive third including the goal ring (semi circle)
GD- It means Goal Defence.... Can go in the goal and middle thirds and in the goal circle
GS-Goal Shooters (GS) main role is to shoot as many goals as possible. The GS is genuinely the taller shooter in the team. GA and GS work closely together.
The Goal shooter stays in the goal third, and is unable to go into the centre court. They mainly stay in the goal circle, or may lead just outside of the circle.
GS is accurate, and genuinely the most accurate player in the team. The shooter will take most of the shots for the game.
They make short, sharp moves. GS also may hold strong a receive high lobs. The GS gives the team something to aim for and is the main target in the attacking end.
The GS is the Goal Shooter which means they shoot the goals they are the only ones besides GA who is aloud to shoot goals.

∙ 13y agoBasically Wing Attack marks the other teams Wing Defence and Vice verse for the Wing Defence. If you're wondering where they are allowed on the netball court, imagine you are the wing attack. You are allowed in the centre third (same applies for wing defence) and you're attacking third (the way you are shooting). If you are playing wing defence you are not allowed in the attacking third, so you are defending the other teams goal. (The wings aren't allowed in the semicircles either).
