The Los Angeles Dodgers were founded in 1883, and were originally called the Brooklyn Atlantics. They moved to Los Angeles for the 1958 season and their colors are blue and white, with a red number.

The Mets got their colors from the New York National League teams that they replaced. The blue is from the Brooklyn Dodgers; the orange is from the New York Giants. The Mets later added black to some of their uniforms.
