Sidney has sponsored a box in Mellon arena for the last several seasons, for children's charities, allowing kids and their families to come to a home game free-of-charge. He also donates equipment (along with Rebok) in a special hockey program to allow at least 600 young children in the Pittsburgh area to play hockey without having to pay for expensive equipment. Sidney, and the other members of the Pens organization also visit the patients in the Pittsburgh Children's Hospital several times a year.

Yes, he does. Sidney created the Sidney Crosby foundation in 2009. His foundation is based on giving financial support to charities that support communities as a whole, especially ones for children. After the 2010 Olympic Games, Sidney donated all his winnings to the charity ( which was also matched by Bell )
