Babe Ruth retired from playing Baseball in 1935, the yea after Aaron was born. Ruth died in 1948, six years before Aaron played his first MLB game.

It's hard to know how well the two of them would have gotten along if they had played at the same time. Aaron was consumately focused on the game; Ruth was a little more relaxed in his post-game attitudes.

Ruth's widow stated that "the Babe" loved the game so much, that he would have cheered as loud as anyone for Aaron to break his career home run record. In particular, Ruth -- a victim of racial taunting himself -- would have denounced the racial aspect of the attacks on Aaron.
