The pitcher is an important part of the team. She must have knowledge of the game and knowledge in her skills. As for characteristics, The pitcher must be a team leader and a team player. She must be able to control the defense because defense starts with her. She must be able to get the whole team involve because she is the one controlling her pitches so she knows more or less where the ball would go. Individually she must be confident, she must have composure, game smarts and poise.
