To be a top kilikiti player one must have good hand eye coordination; a good batsman must be able to adapt to any type of Bowling. Unlike the game of cricket where the batsman can just prod at the ball until he "gets his eye in" or in other words he can see the ball a lot better after some time at the crease.
The kilikiti batsman has no such luxuary; he either hits the first ball over the boundary or he hits the next, and the next and so on until he goes out.
If he misses too many balls he has not contributed to the team score and should just "give his wicket away" so that the next batsman can come in and hopefully do better!!
When batting, the best and most productive kilikiti hit is similar to a Golf drive; except that the kilikiti ball is a moving target and not perched on a tee.
The golfing drive is a typical kilikiti stroke and is not easy to master; so to become a top kilikiti batsman, a good eye and a good drive are essential.
Ask all the weekend golfers had difficult it is to make the perfect drive!
Also ask the top golfers how easy would it be to hit a moving golf ball!!
