What are softball safety regulations that have changed over the years?

It has gone from a boxing glove hit with a broom stick to aluminum bats hitting leather covered balls. People wear jerseys now along with gear instead of being a catcher without any protection pads. SOFTBALL IS MY LIFE!!!!!!!

Over the past couple of years, the rule that batters had to have a face mask has been implemented. All these face masks must me NOQSE approved. Also, many leagues are not allowing metals cleats to be worn during games because of the increased safety risks.
