The 1944 World Series pitted the St. Louis Cardinals against the St. Louis Browns. It marked the only appearance in the World Series by the Browns. The Cards won the series 4-2. Since both teams claimed Sportsman Park in St. Louis as their home field, the entire series was played in the same ball park.
