Sean Taylor was a famous NFL player who wore Number 21 for the Washington Redskins. He was murdered when he was shot during a botched robbery/home invasion.
All NFL teams wore #21 on their helmets in Week 13 of 2007, to honor Sean Taylor, the Redskins star who was killed. Some, but not all, NFL teams continued wearing the number for the rest of the season.
The first champion of the NFL was the Akron Pros in 1920.
