Don Ruzek was a shortstop in the Dodgers minor league system but did not play in a game for the Dodgers. He spent the 1976 season with Bellingham of the Northwest League and 1977-1979 with Lodi of the California League. He was a 2nd round choice of the Dodgers in the 1976 amateur draft.

He was released by the Dodgers after the 1979 season. He converted from shortstop to pitcher and spent 1980-1985 in the minor league systems of the Minnesota Twins, California Angels, Chicago White Sox, and Seattle Mariners.
