No. At one time it was 45 feet. When it was decided to move the pitcher's mound back to where it currently is (60 feet 6 inches), the intention was to move it to 60 feet 0 inches. However, sloppy handwriting resulted in it being built at 60 feet 6 inches. The powers to be at the time simply let it go, and that is the explanation for the odd distance of 60 feet 6 inches.
