well. hard to say, sticks back then were mostly made of a hard wood which allowed you to get more direct power on the puck, but now a days sticks are more made to flex which gives it a more springy effect for more power. i think it verry well could have happened with a solid wood stick and a big strong dude like bobby hull

Q: Very few shoot the puck over 100 mph. 106.6mph is the highest recently recorded slap shot. Does anyone think 118.3 mph for bobby hulls slap shot 40 years ago is maybe a little out to lunch?
