in 1908, when Rugby League was made, spectators were really high, unitl AFL was announced Australia's #1 sport, then rugby league fans really dropped, players were in scandels of rape and clubs over the salary caps. NRL really lost it's name, but now it's regaining the crowd back, in 2009 and 2010, Rugby League were the most viewed sport in Europe, NRL smashed the sales on merchandise, beating AFL by 200%. The crowd attendence rate for 2010 were the highest it as ever been. Membership for crowds has increased and soon Rugby League will be number 1 sport.
