Filipino Olympic medalists: * Teofilo Yldefonso - 200-breaststroke swimmer who won for the Philippines its first Olympic medal--a bronze--in the 1928 Amsterdams Olympics. In 1932, Yldefonso again won a bronze at the Los Angeles Olympics. * Simeon Torribio - a high jumper, also won a bronze in the 1932 Olympics. * Jose "Cely" Villanueva - a bantamweight boxer, got the Philippines' third bronze in the 1932 Olympics. * Miguel White - won a bronze in the 400-meter hurdles event in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. * Anthony Villanueva - a featherweight boxer who won for the Philippines its first silver Olympics medal in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. * Arianne Cerdena - a tenpin player, won a gold in bowling at the 1988 Seoul Olympics. Bowling, however, was considered a demonstration sport, so Cerdena's gold did not count. * Leopoldo Serantes - a light flyweight boxer who won a bronze in the 1988 Seoul Olympics. * Roel Velasco - light flyweight boxer who won a bronze in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. * Stephen Fernandez - won a bronze in Taekwondo in the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, but his medal did not count because taekwondo (bantamweight) was considered a demonstration sport. * Bea Lucero - also won a bronze in taekwondo (featherweight) in Barcelona. * Mansueto "Onyok" Velasco - won a silver medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
