Yes. The Baseball is almost standard in size the world over. The playing field isn't so standard. I believe the Japanese pitcher's mound is shorter and closer to home plate. Actually the baseball sizes are slightly different in Japan and USA professional baseball. I played baseball there and in the states and was informed that Japanese baseballs are slightly lighter, but almost not noticable.
in the MLB, your more likely to see homeruns than in the NPB (the Japanese baseball league, short for Nippon Professional Baseball) but then, hte Japanese player with the most homeruns in the NPB would be Saddaharu Oh, with, get this......868 carrer homers, and they play 142 games instead of 162 games a year, so, you gotta do alot of home run hitting in your carrer to do that, let alone hit 500 homers
also, the NPB uses a smaller baseball than the MLB, only a little smaller, like a fraction of an inch, but even that can give alot of players an advantage, also, there are only 12 Japanese teams compared to 30 in the MLB, another thing, Japanese player pride themselfs on great defence, so you'll probably see more great plays made than in the MLB, but that's just my opinion
