The question of whether the NBA is scripted\rigged or not has recently come into question as the panning-out of some drama in the NBA has been becoming increasingly suspicious.
For instance, the 2007 NBA Finals, the hallmark of high ratings for the sport, was at its lowest (viewers) in history: Cavaliers vs. Spurs - A one man show vs. the slowest team in basketball history.
Something needed to be done to keep basketball's grip on consumer's pass-time. Enter the script (possibly). How about sending basketball's fiercest rivals since its glory days. Eureka, it's even a Cinderella story!- The Celtic's inevitable rise to the top. The Lakers' quest to prove they own the game through the leadership Kobe Bryant.
It just fits.

Basketball is entertainment. The NBA is a business. Do the math.
Skeptics can currently bring up the point that the Cavaliers' downfall couldn't have been the concoction of the NBA as this season's most lucrative finals match-up certainly would have been Kobe's Lakers versus Lebron's Cavaliers. Which is pursued by the NBA and Nike as they want a 7-game series because it would be the biggest money-making finals series in the history of any sport.
Also with talks of LeBron leaving the Cavs the NBA can't be scripted because SuperStars don't leave teams. i.e. Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Isiah Thomas, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, etc. All of them stayed with their team until they won a championship.

Your conspiracy theory is a good one, but you have no concrete proof. I believe the officials are swayed by Vegas money (i.e. to cover the spread), but I don't think the games are predetermined.
