Yes. Charles Finlay was going to sell the team to a group of investors that was wanted the team to play in Denver. But he had a long term lease with Oakland Alameda Stadium and the city of Oakland would not release him from it. Instead of fighting in court, Finlay decided to continue on in Oakland.
