There isn't any official rule that says otherwise, however, it is poor sportsmanship and sets a bad example for young players. For instance, if they see A. Rod doing it, in they're mind its ok because he did it. Stealing signs or pitch locations is an abomination to the morale of America's past time.

No it is not against the rules, however if you get caught you may be finding the next pitch is at your head.
