Being thought of as "underrated" is a GOOD thing, because it means you are better than people think you are. These type of players are generally looked highly upon by team personnel and other professionals, as most want to have the upper hand in getting a great player people think is not good.
Now, if someone says you are "overrated," that is an insult. This would mean you are worse than people think you are. While some put these types of players as great, most view them as a lot worse than advertised, so to speak.
