∙ 9y agoThere is nothing in the laws of the game that say anything about the next match.
Most leagues have adopted the rule that a red card requires a sit-out of the next match, or even more if the offense was deemed severe by a review committee.

Most leagues have an accumulation rule for cautions, but this is different than a send off. For example, after 5 cautions (in different matches) the player must sit out a match.
