My recollection is that each team receives about $500,000 per year for 5 years. Additionally, each conference receives a mathing amount to be divided equally over five years. The host conference also receives a share. I am not certain, and would very much like to be corrected.
some one told me that only ucla made money this year as a final four team. each team must pay for four hundred rooms and their ticket allotment each team has to put a party for 32000 per team for the ncaa that seems like a rip off
There is a complicated system to determine how much money teams get from the NCAA tournament. The money is based on how many sports the team plays, how many scholarships are given out and how well the school has done in the past six years. It is not based on rounds played but that does go into the system.
It is estimated that the total TV ad revenue for NCAA March Madness was $1 Billion. However, the total amount can be far more than this figure. Apart from that $100 million was placed on bets by legal channels, whereas the total figure for betting amounted to $12 Billion.
The NCAA is in the middle of a 11 year $6 billion television rights deal with CBS for the NCAA tournament.

Basketball players
basketball players
They get contracts that say that they will get money for playing good
2.5 dollars
College players are considered amateurs and universities aren't allowed to make money off of them. The players aren't getting paid and the NCAA has very strict rules against rewarding them with monetary or other types of incentives. It would be quite wrong for any organization to make money off of them while they receive no compensation.
THEY MAKE ABOUT 5 MILLION A YERAR
Like 21 Million dollars.
football players make more money
