Technically, there are no professional curlers. Curlers all have other jobs. Revenue Canada considered taxing the winnings of curlers, but soon came to the conclusion that if curlers who participated in the same bonspiels and won little or nothing were to claim lodging, meals, and associated expenses as tax deductions, that the deductions would far exceed any revenue collected from those who made significant amounts.
