Cutler signed a 6 year, $47.9 million dollar contract with the Denver Broncos in July, 2006 that has carried over to the Bears. $11 million of the contract was guaranteed money. His 2009 base salary is $1.035 million plus a $100,000 workout bonus clause. He also has a $4 million bonus that kicks in if he takes 70% of the snaps in 2009 along a $500,000 bonus if he wins a Super Bowl.

Although his salary cap hit for 2009 is put at $1.56 million, he has the opportunity to make more than $5 million if he reaches all of the incentives in the contract.
