Liverpool have never won the ' League Cup ' whilst it's been sponsored by Carling.

They have won the ' League Cup ' ( under different sponsors ) on 7 separate occasions, these were ;

• 1981, ( Liverpool beat West Ham in the final. The first game finished 1 - 1, with Kennedy scoring for Liverpool. Goals were scored by Dalglish and Hansen in the replay. )

• 1982, ( Liverpool beat Tottenham Hotspur 3 - 1. Goals were scored by Whelan (2) and Rush (1). )

• 1983, ( They beat Manchester United 2 - 1. Kennedy and Whelan were the goal scorers on the day. )

• 1984, ( Liverpool beat Everton in the replay, with the only goal being scored by Souness. )

• 1995, ( Liverpool beat Bolton 2 - 1, with both goals being scored by McManaman. )

• 2001, ( They drew 1 - 1 with Birmingham City, Fowler scoring the goal in normal time. They ended up winning 5 - 4 on penalties. )

• 2003, ( They best Manchester United 2 - 0, with goals from Owen and Gerrard. )
