The Baltimore Ravens will appear in their second Super Bowl on February 3, 2013 in New Orleans, LA, in Super Bowl XLVII. Their opponent will be the San Francisco 49ers, who will be playing in their sixth Super Bowl (having won in their previous five appearances).
In their first Super Bowl, which was Super Bowl XXXV on January 28, 2001 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, the Ravens defeated the New York Giants 34 - 7. In doing so, they became just the third wild card team to win the Super Bowl.
The Baltimore Ravens began play in 1996, when they relocated from Cleveland where they were known as the Cleveland Browns. The Browns never made it to the Super Bowl.
Baltimore did win Super Bowl V as the Baltimore Colts, beating the Dallas Cowboys by the score of 16-13. These Baltimore Colts move to Indianapolis in 1984, and have not won a Super Bowl since.
