The winner of each division will play in the championship game to crown a conference champion. Conferences that are not broken into two divisions do not have a championship game.

The number of special teams plays in a football game can vary widely, but typically there are about 20 to 30 special teams plays per game. This includes kickoffs, punts, field goal attempts, and extra point attempts. The exact number can depend on the pace of the game, the effectiveness of offenses, and the number of turnovers.
