nba has been around for many many years... while wnba has only been around for 10 or so.... wnba hasn't gained as much popularity as oppose 2 nba.. therefore at this time wnba has less teams.

The Los Angeles Sparks are currently the only WNBA team from California.
WNBA games are on NBATV, ESPN, ABC, and ESPN2. They are also on the local channels for the teams.
The Comets were one of the original teams when the WNBA started in 1997. They won the first four WNBA titles and have won the most WNBA titles of any team in the league.
In 2009, there are 13 teams.
