There have been deaths in various European leagues. However, in the NHL there has been only one. On Jan. 13, 1968, in a game between the Oakland Seals and the Minnesota North Stars, Minnesota player Bill Masterton was checked and fell to the ice causing a severe head injury. He was taken to hospital but never regained consciousness. He died two days later on Jan.15/68. Not as much as Baseball. Three. Obvieusly. One died after a fight the other two died after hits.
It depends on what hockey you are talking about. Are you talking about field hockey, ice hockey, street hockey? Or are you talking about all of them?

there isn't an official count but many people have died due to light induced seizures that come from the light of a t.v or video srceen.
