In 1970, they were voted National Champions by Poling, BUT every other Organization had Nebraska as #1.

In 1975, they were voted National Champions by the Sporting News and the National Championship Foundation, who also had Oklahoma as their National Champion. BUT most of all the other Organizations had Oklahoma, including AP and the UPI.
