Through the 2009 season, no. The Tigers did draft Australian born (Perth) pitcher Mark Ettles in the 1989 amateur draft but he did not play in MLB for the Tigers. He played for the Tigers minor league teams in Niagara Falls, Fayetteville, and Lakeland before being released in 1991.

There was a pitcher named Will George that played with Cal Ripken Jr. in the Orioles minor league system. They played together with the Miami Orioles of the Florida State League and the Charlotte O's of the Southern League in 1979 and with Charlotte in 1980. George played with minor league teams of the Detroit Tigers and San Diego Padres between 1981-1983 before retiring. He did not play in a game in the major leagues.
