Mickey Mantle was "a member of the Rawlings Advisory Staff" which basically means he endorsed a lot of Baseball gloves for Rawlings. The exact number of baseball glove models Mantle endorsed for Rawlings might be difficult to find. Mantle endorsed Fielders gloves, first base, and catchers mitts, but I'm not sure if the later was a Rawlings glove endorsement. Below I will keep a running list of Mickey Mantle endorsed baseball gloves, including MM1 adult model to MM9 youth models. See Related Links below for more information, and pictures of Mickey Mantle Rawlings gloves, and advertising.

A signed baseball is autographed, or hand signedby a noted personality. A stamped baseball is a facsimile signature, stamped or printed on the baseball. It is a copy of the actual signature of the noted personality. It is called a stamped signature, because a stamp is made of the signature to be used in the printing process.Facsimile or Stamped signatures are printed signatures usually used on Souvenir baseballs, promotional photos, Postcards, Bats, Gloves, advertising's etc. A preprint, or Facsimile is simply a photographic copy of an original signed photograph, or in the case of a baseball a stamp is used to mass produce the signature.See Related Links for more information on Facsimile stamped signatures.

There were many different baseballs made with the stamped signature of Babe Ruth. More information would be needed to the specific baseball you are asking about. The Babe Ruth 100 Anniversary commemorative baseball issued in 1995 is worth about $5.-$10. in near/mint condition in it's original box. The Official sized baseball features a Babe Ruth facsimile (stamped ) signature, and a short bio.
The most preferred baseball to have a player sign that will lead to a higher value, would be an Official Major League baseball from the League the player played in, that was used during the ballplayer's playing days.Spalding along with the Reach label was producing Major league baseball for about 100 years until Rawlings took over around 1970, and the Rawlings company have been making major league baseballs ever since. For example: Willie Mays played from 1951-1973. If you were planning to acquire a Willie Mays signature you would try to find a 1951-1969 Warren Giles Official National League Baseball, made by Spalding. If The signature was acquired on a modern day Major League baseball made by Rawlings then it will have a lower value, but the bulk of the value will still rely on the signature. A signature of a modern day ballplayer would be most preferred on a Rawlings baseball. The same would be for team signed baseballs. A team signed baseball will have a higher value if signed on an Official Major League baseball from that era, and league. For more information on Major League baseballs see Related Links below.

Major League Baseball more DesiredThe value of a Signature on a Major League ball could have a higher value than a signature on a "regular baseball" but the value will ultimately fall upon the quality of the signature, and the type of authenticity that accompanies it. A Major League baseball would be more desired for the signature resulting in a higher value. The condition of the ball would be a larger factor on value overall. Because the Major league baseball is more desired it doesn't always translate into a higher value. The signature, and how well it displays dictates the value.
1964 New York Yankees Stamped Signature BaseballSouvenir team baseballs with Stamped signatures have been made and sold at ballparks, for at least as far back as 1950. The baseball you have can be a stamped signature baseball. A Stamped signature will usually have the same density, and thickness throughout, and the signature will start, and end with no variation at all.See Related Links below for samples of souvenir stamped signature baseballs including one from 1965. Check the signatures on your ball to the signatures on the 1965 ball as they will use the same stamp for multiple years. If they are exactly the same you know for sure that you have a souvenir baseball.
He might have signed Ed Ford early in his career, and baseballs signed "Ed" would be few. Signatures of Ed Ford, and Larry Berra, instead of Whitey, and Yogi could be an indication that the baseball or photo you have is a facsimile, or stamped signature commonly found on souvenir baseballs, or photos, and is not hand signed. With a stamped signature baseball the ink would be too consistent. When you sign your name, you use different angles, and pressure as you sign. This is more evident when signing with sharpie. Some parts of the signature will be darker, or lighter depending on the pressure you put on the pen. With a stamped signature it is usually all the same density, and thickness. When you cross a "T", or at the end of your signature you might tail off as you come off the page. A stamped signature might start, and end with no variation at all. With a photo a preprint or facsimile signature often appears to be below the surface gloss of the photo, and the signature is often very "flat." Hold the photo up at an angle to a light source. A real signature is written on the surface of the photo, and should have a different level of reflectivity than the rest of the surface. A preprint will blend right in with the surface because it's underneath the surface gloss.See Related Links Below for a picture of Ed Ford, and Larry Berra stamped signatures that appear on a 1955 baseball. If your signatures are exactly the same then you have a souvenir baseball.
If the signature on your baseball reads Henry Aaron, as opposed to Hank Aaron you might have a facsimile (stamped) signed souvenir baseball. These baseballs are commonly found being sold at ballpark souvenir stands.A facsimile signature is a pre printed signature usually used on Souvenir baseballs, promotional photos, Bats, Gloves, etc. A preprint, or Facsimile is simply a photographic copy of an original signed photograph or in the case of a baseball stamped or printed on.Facsimile autographs tend to be of the same density or thickness throughout the signature, Start and finish with no variation. Below (Related Links) I will leave a link to other facsimile Souvenir baseballs that you can compare your baseball to. If you decide that your signatures are in fact hand signed then you could have your baseball professionally authenticated. An autograph that is not authenticated by a creditable company could sell at half the price or less than one that is. Two of the top, and most trusted authenticators are PSA/DNA, and James Spence Authentic (JSA). (I will leave links below) Collectors will pay more for signatures authenticated by either one.Check the respective websites Show Schedule to see if they will be in the area that you live. They also do business through the mail. Before spending money on having the autograph authenticated do your homework. Find signatures on line that have been properly authenticated, and compare them to yours. If you feel comfortable that they are authentic hand signed signatures then proceed.I will also leave below (Related Links) a sample of Hank Aaron's Signature. If you need help identifying your baseball you may contact me.
