Babe Ruth was captain of the Yankees for exactly six days, May 20, 1922 to May 25, 1922. On May 25, Ruth was ejected from a game for throwing dirt on an umpire and subsequently went into the stands to confront a heckler. Miller Huggins, manager of the Yankees at the time, immediately stripped the captaincy from Ruth.
