take an aproach with your feet. take one long step with ur left and two small steps after so its- left, right left. then jump. track the ball with ur left hand (this is for a right handed person) and swing at it with right hand, snap ur wrist when u contact ball and follow thru with hand at side. if ur left handed, ur aproach is right, left right, track with right hand, swing, snap, and follow thru with left.

You typically defend a spike by putting a block up. Either 1, 2, or even 3 people try to block the ball and stuff the hitter. However, if the block is late or the spike gets through, the back row defenders must pick it up. They must be low and on their toes because the volleyball can go in any direction when it goes off the block.

You can teach someone how to spike the ball in 3 easy steps.

Step 1: Teach them how to do the approach so they are able to spike the ball. Make sure they have this down before you move on to using the ball.

Step 2: Have them do their approach to the net and hit the ball. Then fix any problems with her arm swing.

Step 3: Have them go through all the motions as much as you can, and keep fixing the problems until they are able to aim where they want to hit and things like that.

A spike, also known as a 'hit' or 'smash' , takes a lot of practice to hit well. For a good spike, the ball is passed up to the setter, who then sets it to the hitter (player who spikes the ball). Depending on whether the player is a strong side hitter, middle hitter, or weak side hitter will change where the ball is set.

There are many different approaches a player can take to swing at a ball. Usually, it is a couple of steps, and then the player jumps up with their arm fully extended, and they swing away. On a good set, the hitter doesn't have to adjust as much.

To hit the ball, use an open hand. Reach as high as you can (a good way to think of it is to pretend you're blocking a Basketball shot). When the ball reaches you (and this takes timing and practice!) swing your arm forward and hit the ball down on the other side of the net.
