I don't recall who but in the 08 Olympics Men's Volleyball, Bulgaria vs Russia, the fastest serve I saw was a Matei Kaziiski serves it was 137 kph, which is 85 mph. Retired beach volleyball player Louis O'Rear of Cantonment, Florida was clocked at 88 mph on Pensacola Beach. He now teaches science at Ransom Middle School.
The Bulgarian volleyball player Matey Kazisky can hit the ball more than 90 mp/h(145km/h) when spiking, his average spike is around 50mph(80km/h), he can hit a maximum speed of 110mp/h(177km/h), but spikes like these happen very rarely. Other players mainly average around 65-80mp/h(105-129km/h), some more.
The fastest Racquetball serve was recorded by Egan Inoue at 191m.p.h. Brian Fredenberg has the second and third fastest serves at 187m.p.h. and 186m.p.h.
