== == Bobby Hull, in the 1960's, had the fastest slap shot, timed at just over 100 mph. In the more modern era, with metal or composite sticks, the speeds are just a bit slower, around 98 or 99 mph. Of course, speed is NOT that important in goal scoring. Accuracy and a fast release are much more important than raw speed is. Being able to "put it in the hole" is the skill, not blasting the puck into the goalie's pads.
