The drop is just the difference between the length of the bat and the weight of the bat. Ex: 33", 23oz bat = -10 (drop 10); 33", 24oz = -9 (drop 9) etc. All-in-all it just depends on how tall a person is and how much weight she can handle when swinging. A -9 would be heavier than a -10, but a -9 33" bat weighs as much as a -10 34" bat. So, if a bat is too heavy or too light it can negatively effect the hitter's swing.
Yes, a slowpich ball is heavier. That is why a slowpitch ball makes an arch and drop straight to the ground. since fastpitch balls come in faster the bats are lighter and made to swing faster.............any other questions go to www.youbetya.com
In softball it's the rise and the drop.
they are the same as in baseball, if you swing on srike 3 or if you get strike 3
well, to improve your swing you need to practice swinging with your legs, hips, and arms .... also swing all the way through (not just half way threw)
The rise ball is a very useful pitch in softball. A good rise ball begins looking like a strike so the batter will swing at it. However, by the time the ball reaches the batter, is it higher than it was when it first started out. The causes the batter to swing in miss since upward adjustments with a softball swing are very hard to make.
There is not much energy needed to swing a softball bat if you can find the right size and weight for your age and weight. There are different websites just go to google and type this question, and there will be a place where they recommend a bat!

a swing is more than just moveing your bat and hitting the ball. its a perfect indicatoin of rhe heart of a softball player. if there swing is well concentrated then you know that the batter wants to hit the ball and works 24/7 to perfect there swing. just because a girl doesnt hit the ball doesnt mean they aren't a good softball player. it means they couldn't find there pitch, they can't concentrate or they just don't care. the farthher the ball is hit the harder they swing the bat the more heart and ambition it showa. to be good work hard.
Some drills for catching grounders it that you can get a small piece of wood and strap it onto your hand and learn to use two hands to catch the ball.a sliding drill is to get two eggs and go into the the grass and slide and you have to keep the eggs above your head or they will break. And a batting drill is stand next to a fence and swing and if you hit the fence your drop your shoulder.
You would have to fab some hinges that allowed it to drop down instead of swing open.
yes, usually a heavyer bat will make the ball go farther, but if it's too heavy it willl slow your swing and you won't get a very good hit. I lighter bat will help you swing faster and you will pull the ball more.
There is no limit to the drop; that only applies to baseball. The only requirement for a softball bat to be used in high school softball is that it must be ASA (Amateur Softball Association) approved and so marked on the bat. The current marking is the phrase ASA 2004 inside the outline of a home plate.
